Per the most recently available U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data, the roughly 2 million migrants who encountered border agents in fiscal year 2022 included individuals on the Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS), colloquially known as the “terror watchlist.” In FY22, there were 98 encounters with non-U.S. citizens on the TSDS; at the start of FY23, the CBP reports nine more TSDS encounters have already occurred so far. This exposes a deep need for border security technology that can protect the homeland from potential terror activity.

Security Technology for the Border Crisis | Part 1

In October, new U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data on migrant encounters showed that federal agents at the southwest border encountered more than 2 million migrants in fiscal year 2022. As reported, a substantial spike in migration from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua accounts for the increase from 2021, when the 1.7 million migrants encountered by agents largely stemmed from Central American countries. As evidenced by a monthly CBP operational update, the shocking statistics seem virtually endless.
